The study of strong terahertz wave as future electromagnetic pulses

Many research institutions have paid their attentions to strong terahertz (THz) source. It is because that strong THz waves, as future electromagnetic pulses will create new challenges for the electromagnetic protection and the electromagnetic environment will become more complicated. In this research, we study the strong THz absorption in the radiation process. THz absorption is observed when preformed laser-induced air plasma and THz wave are focused at the same point. We believe that the density and collision frequency of preformed plasma is the reason for the absorption of THz. We study the THz wave frequencies during the absorption of different gas species further.
