The effect and mechanism of estrogen on stress gastric ulcer

Objective To study the effect and mechanism of estrogen on stress gastric ulcer.Methods The stress gastric ulcer model was established with water immersion and restraint stress.The gastric ulcer index was measured.NO content in mice serum was tasted.Results Compared with the model group,the high dose and low dose of estrogen could obviously decrease the gastric ulcer index and increase the content of NO in serum.Conclusion Estrogen could possess protective effect on stress gastric ulcer in mice.Its mechanism may be related to the improvement of NO content in serum.
