Comparative Study on the Phenol Decomposition Vigour of Super- bacterium under Different Phenol Densities

The 3 strains of endurable phenol super-bacteria W 2, M 2 and W 1 ,with the phenol decomposition of 1760 mg/L, have been studied for their phenol decomposition vigour under different phenol densities. The results show as follows: 3 kinds of endurable phenol super-bacterium have better decomposition ability for phenol. During the same period of time ,the phenol decomposition rates can slow down as their densities go up ,and can be increased as their inoculative time prolongs. W 1 is particularly obvious among them, and the sewage with phenol density less than 500 mg/L in 24 hrs has been completely decomposed, and that with more than 993.2 mg/L density in 72 hrs also gets well done. The vigour of W 1 is similar to that of W 2 ,and the vigour of M 2 is weak relatively.
