Localization and surgical treatment on insulinomas

Objective: To research the value of methods of preoperative localization and surgical treatment on insulinomas. Methods: The clinical data of 26 cases treated between May,1995 and Oct.2000 were reviewed. Results: The correct rate of localization by BUS was 23.1%, by CT was 55% and by DSA was 50% and exploration was 96.2%. Conclusion: The preoperative accurate rates of localizing insulinoma by BUS, CT and DSA was very low. Enucleation is the first choice of treatment when insulinoma is located.
