Reverse intersystem crossing from high-level triplet excited electronic states of fluorescent organic molecules

Triplet-sensitized “delayed fluorescence” from DPOTAB via efficient T 4 → S 1 “hot-RISC” (hRISC) is reported, in which a suppressed population of long-lived T 1 inhibits triplet–triplet annihilation (TTA) and phosphorescence.
