摘要
Microwave, ultrasound, and mechanochemical mixing can be used as an alternative energy source to modify the reactivity and/or selectivity of distinct reaction methodologies. The application of a different energy source for the synthesis of functionalized selenium compounds, compared to the reactions carried out under standard conditions, is a simple way to improve the performance of selenium moiety insertion, and for waste and/or byproduct minimization. This chapter highlights the advantages of using an unconventional energy source to synthesize different classes of organoselenium compounds, emphasizing the substrate scope, reaction conditions, time, and yields.
