Effect of oxymatrine on dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis: A preliminary study Zheng P. , Niu F. , Peng Y. , Zeng M. View author addresses(...) Abstract Background/Aims: To investigate the effect of oxymatrine (OM) on the experimental murine colitis. Methods: The colitis was induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in rats, and the disease activity index (DAI) and pathologic scores were compared among DSS + OM, DSS and control groups, respectively. Results: There were significant differences in the two indices among these three groups (P<0.05). Conclusions: OM can ameliorate the symptoms and mucosal damages of DSS-induced colitis in rats. |
