摘要
Recent literature attempting to explain organization dynamics through ecological processes raises some important questions. An evaluation of the empirical work using population ecology models to explain selection processes operating on organizations reveals three issues suggesting pitfalls in applying the models: the role of structural inertia in constraining adaptation, the classification of organizational species, and the importance of the environment in determining organizational survival.
