摘要
Chemical safety assessment (CSA) identifies and explains the conditions under which the manufacture and use of a substance can be deemed as safe. Under the European Union chemicals regulation REACH, the three steps of CSA include hazard assessment for human health, physicochemical properties, and the environment and a persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT) and very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) substances assessment; exposure assessment; and risk characterization. A software tool, Chesar, is available to facilitate the assessment and reporting.
