摘要
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) has been employed to track the variation in hydration kinetics for fast setting cementitious material (Ca7ZrAl6O18) and standard calcium aluminate cement (CAC). In a pure form, Ca7ZrAl6O18 reacts very violently with water, resulting in an immediate formation of the Ca-Al hydrates which cause an abnormal electrical response of cement pastes at higher frequencies appearing as sharp-edged holes of the resistance Z′ versus hydration time. It was found that the same effects were delayed about 45 min for CAC paste. The proposed new electrochemical equivalent model R1(CPE1(R2W1))W2, different from a classic one, R1(CPE1(R2W1)), can better explain phenomena of the early stage hydration process of cementitious compounds. The EIS experimental results were supplemented with both thermal analysis (DTA-TG-EGA) and SEM analysis of changes in the morphology and microstructure of cement paste that allow to track the hydration progress.
