Adaptive Differentiation of the Photo-physiological Properties of Arabidopsis thaliana under Different Moisture Conditions

In this experiment,three ecotypes of Arabidopsis,i.e.,the Columbia ecotype,Xinjiang ecotype and Zhejiang ecotype,are chosen as the materials.The adaptation of photo-physiological properties under arid and humid treatments is studied.The results show that there are the significant differences between these ecotypes not only in growing properties,such as the seedling height,aboveground biomass,bolting time and relative adaptability,but also in instantaneous photo-physiological properties,such as the g_s,WUE and Ts.There is no significant difference in Pn.Repeated-measurement analysis of variance shows that there are the differences in Pn,g_s,WUE and Ts between the three ecotypes.The correlations between Pn of the Columbia ecotype with the highest relative adaptability among these ecotypes and other properties,such as g_s,WUE and Ts,are not so significant under either dry or humid treatment,revealing the redundancy relations among the photo-physiological properties.Different correlation patterns of dual properties are observed not only in one ecotype between dry and humid treatments,but also among the three ecotypes under each treatment.However,Principal component analysis shows that the differences of harmonious relationship of photo-physiological properties between different treatments and among ecotypes are not so significant,which reveals a remarkable consistency of the property integration pattern of A.thaliana.The microevolution of the three ecotypes is also discussed in this paper.
