Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of treating knee osteoarthritis(KOA) with combined articular cavity injection of ozone and sodium hyaluronate.Methods Ninety patients with KOA were treated with 35 μg/ml ozone 10 ml(group B,30 cases),sodium hyaluronate 2 ml(group C,30 cases) and combined use of ozone and sodium hyaluronate(group A,30 cases).Clinical efficacy was evaluated by VAS of pain and Lysholm scores of knee joint function before treatment and at the 7th day,1st,3rd,6th and 12th month after treatment.Results Compared to groups of B and C,the scores of VAS and Lysholm were improved more and clinical efficacy lasted longer in group A.The total effectiveness rate of group A was 93.33%,which was significantly higher than 80.00% of group B(P0.01) and 83.33% of group C(P0.05).There were no obvious side effects in three groups.Conclusion Combined articular cavity injection of ozone and sodium hyaluronate has better efficacy than that of ozone or sodium hyaluronate alone.
