The present status of application and research and development prospects of sucker rod pumps

This paper first analyses the changing of working conditions of sucker rod pump. Then problems in use failure types and causes are introduced, pointing out that main cause resulting in frequent failure of sucker rod pump is deterioration of working conditions. At the same time the paper outlines design improvements and applied results about sucker rod pump in resent years and describes some design improvement ideas and suggestions of author, Lastly talking about development in prospect about sucker rod pump.
