This research focused on preparing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from fructose in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) by TiO2-SiO2 catalysis.The influences of TiO2 to SiO2 ratio,reaction time,the amount of catalyst added and the amount of fructose used on the yield of HMF are studied.Under the conditions of reaction temperature 150℃,reaction time as 3 hours,TiO2 as a catalyst and fructose as a substrate,a high HMF yield of 83.8% can be obtained.
