Objective: To investigate the variation of the plasma concentration of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (u-PA),urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (u-PAR) and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) in mammary cancer and their relationship with tumorous metastasis and prognosis. Methods: The levels of u-PA,u-PAR and PAI-1 in 22 patients with the malignant tumor and 21 normals were measured by ELISA.Results: u-PA,u-PAR and PAI-1 levels of mammary cancer significantly increased ( P 0.05~0.01);u-PA level in mid stage or advanced stage group was statistical higher than that of early stage group( P 0.05),u-PA,u-PAR and PAI-1 levels in the metastasis group was significantly higher than that of non- metastasis group ( P 0.05~0.01). Conclusion: Levels of u-PA,u-PAR and PAI-1 increased significantly in mammary cancer, and the increase is related to tumorous metastasis and prognosis.
