Effect of Composite Salvia Dropping Pill vs Salvia Miltiorrhiza Tablet in treating angina pectoris

AIM:To observe the efficacy of Composite Salvia Dropping Pill in the treatment of angina pectoris and myocardial ischemia. METHODS:Composite Salvia Dropping Pill group of 38 patients were treated with Composite Salvia Dropping Pill 10 pills,tid for 4 weeks. Salvia Miltiorrhiza group of 34 patients were treated with Salvia Miltiorrhiza tablet(2g/tablet) 3 tablet,tid for 4 weeks. RESULTS:The clinical and electrocardiogram(ECG) total effective rates were 95% and 71%, respectively on Composite Salvia Dropping Pill group,were 77% and 50% respectively ( P 0.05) on Salvia Miltiorrhiza group. Composite Salvia Dropping Pill reduced blood viscosity also. CONCLUSION:Composite Salvia Dropping Pill is a safe and effective drug for treatment of angina pectoris.
