Lilac-ash borers are generally distributed throughout the United States and Canada. They feed primarily in the trunks and larger limbs of lilac, ash, and privet, but occasionally attack related plants in the family Oleaceae. Significant damage in Utah has been reported from ash, primarily in European, blue, and green ash, and lilacs. Jay B. Karren Extension Entomology Specialist Taun Beddes Cache Co. Horticultural Agent
