Cathodic interference is a common problem caused by the effect of stray current on one structure from the cathodic protection (CP) system on another structure. Although this phenomenon is nearly always associated with impressed current CP, it can occur with galvanic anode CP systems. This article describes a case study of a situation where galvanic CP caused cathodic inteference in an unusual way.
