摘要
The electrochemical behavior of TiB2 anode is investigated in the present work in order to obtain the anodic behavior in molten CaCl2-CaO. The work reveals that the passivation film is generated on the surface of TiB2 anode during the anodic polarization process, leading to a higher pitting potential than that of the Pt electrode. After 100 h potentiostatic electrolysis, the TiB2 anode shows a corrosion rate as low as 1.38 × 10-3 g cm-2 h-1. The formation mechanism of the TiB2 anode passivation film after electrolysis is determined as TiB2 + O2- → Ti(BO3) + O2- → TiO2 + CaO → CaTiO3.
