Cumene-mediated aerobic oxidation of polyethylene

We report a Ni-catalyzed, cumene-mediated PE oxidation method using O 2 as the oxidant to produce oxidized PE with enhanced adhesion and a functionalization degree of up to 3.8 mol%. This work offers a promising strategy for upcycling PE waste.
