Biologic and small-molecule therapies for chronic plaque psoriasis in people living with HIV: current evidence and clinical practical considerations

Psoriasis and other chronic inflammatory skin diseases present unique therapeutic challenges in people living with HIV (PLHIV). Historically, concerns regarding immunosuppression and the risk of opportunistic infection have limited the use of systemic and biologic therapies in this population. Although the advent of effective antiretroviral therapy has markedly improved immune function and life expectancy, robust evidence guiding the management of moderate-to-severe psoriasis in PLHIV remains scarce.
