Amelioration of hypercholesterolemia by Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GLPL02 via regulating intestinal flora and cholesterol metabolism

The present study indicates that L. plantarum GLPL02 and short-chain fatty acids (propionate, butyrate) ameliorated hypercholesterolemia and offers new insights into the role of L. plantarum in systemic cholesterol reduction from the perspective of microbiota-short-chain fatty acid interactions. © 2025 Society of Chemical Industry.
