Modelling of batch annealing process parameters of dual phase steels is crucial to obtain targeted steel microstructure, hence desired mechanical properties and enhanced formability. By developing unique annealing profile parameters -including but not limited to critical annealing temperature, isoholding duration and cooling rate- in consideration with chemical composition; high strength steel products possessing better cold formability, strain hardenability and higher anisotropy values are attained. In this study, the correlations of material properties with micro-scale features and processing parameters are investigated. Nakazima tests along with microstructural investigations are performed. Cold-rolled and batch annealed materials of this study are compared with conventionally produced dual phase steels and superior formability is validated through mechanical and microstructural characterization.
