The rare earth composite hydrogenation catalyst Cu-Cr-Mo-La/ SiO_(2) was prepared by the sol-gel process, and was used in gas-phase hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline. The results showed Cu-Cr-Mo-La/ SiO_(2)catalyst exhibited higher activity and better selectivity for aniline. The relationship between the catalytic activity and nature of the active sites was discussed based on various characterizations including XRD,TPR,TG,ect.Adding Cr,Mo,La into Cu/SiO_(2) catalyst could make CuO grain own smaller size and disperse better, which enhanced the stability and anticoking ability of the catalyst.
