Comparison of effect between pregabalin and indometacin for postherpetic neuralgia

Objective To discuss effect between pregabalin and indometacin for postherpetic neuralgia.Methods Retrospective analyzed clinical data of 60 cases with postherpetic neuralgia.30 cases were treated by pregabalin,and 30 cases were treated by indometacin.The different time points before and after treatment,the pain degree of quality of life changes in sleep duration,pain questionnaire score summary table adverse reactions of two groups were compared.Results Two groups of VAS scores before and after the treatment were significantly improved,but pregabalin group pain score decreased more significantly(P 0.01).In the two groups before and after treatment for sleep duration were significantly improved,but pregabalin group improved more significantly(P 0.01).Pregabalin group of the quality of life before and after the treatment was improved,after treatment for 4 weeks every dimension compared with in domethacin group was statistically significant(P 0.05 or 0.01).Pregabalin group of SF-MPQ scores before and after the treatment was decreased significantly(P 0.01),4 weeks after treatment compared with indomethacin group,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.01).The incidence of dizziness,abdominal pain,nausea and vomiting indomethacin group,were significantly higher than pregabalin group(P 0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion Pregabalin for treatment of postherpetic neuralgia shows good efficacy with less complications,and can improve quality of life and sleep quality.
