Review of single-port laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy as a routine procedure in 1000 patients

I would like to commend Dagher et al. on their review of single-port laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy as a routine procedure in 1000 patients. Single-port or single-incision surgery has been a topic of interest among surgeons for nearly the past decade. Yet despite the waxing and waning of interest over the years, there remains a paucity of data or large series evaluating the feasibility of this technique. As a result, concern has been raised regarding the safety profile and potential efficacy of procedures that use the single-incision approach. The authors attempt in this review of their experience to answer many of these questions.
