Designing and optimizing thickness of absorption layer of α-Si/poly-silicon solar cell

It is discoverd by simulation using the program of AMPS that photovoltaicperformance of the solar cell is improved after increasing a layer of heavily doped amorphous silicon as the back surface field for α-Si/poly-Si solar cell. It is also showed that the conversion efficiency of the solar cell arrives peaks at the absorption layer thickness of 5 μm and 15 μm respectively with and without the back surface field. Therefore,the solar cell with back surface field is more benificial to saving material and reducing cost.
