Aquaporin and Water Transport in Plant

Aquaporins are integral membrane proteins, belong to major integral proteins (MIP),occurring in mammals, plants and micro-organisms,which serve as channels that facilitate water transport across bio-membranes.Higher plants contain abundant aquaporins.They have closely relations with quick and efficient water transport in plants.The finding,structure,style,distribution,characteristic,regulation and function of aquaporins that relate with water transport in plants are discussed.
