Crystal structure determination of the nitridophosphate Na3AlP3O9N

The crystal structure of the title compound has been determined from single crystal data. The unit cell is cubic (space group P2 1 3, Z=4) with a=9.274A. Nitrogen is bonded to three tetrahedral phosphorus atoms, thus forming N(PO 3 ) 3 groups around octahedral aluminum atoms. The structure can be compared to that of tha langbeinite K 2 Mg 2 (SO 4 ) 3
