The generalised Brewster condition from the extinction theorem

The expression for the Brewster angle in a magnetic medium is derived by using the fact that at that angle of incidence the radiation fields due to the electric and magnetic dipoles induced along the transmitted beam cancel each other in the incident medium. A few consequences of the generalised Brewster condition are examined in some detail.
