Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression rates of Bcl-2 and Bak and the radiosensitivity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) cell lines. Methods Immunofluorescent technique was performed to determine the expression locations of Bcl-2 and Bak in NPC cell lines. The apoptosis rates and Bak,Bcl-2 expressions in two NPC cell lines were detected with flow cytometry before and after 2 Gy of accelerator linear radiation. Results The expression rates of Bcl-2 in NPC cell lines were:(87.6 ± 1.2)% in CNE-1,(87.7 ± 0.8)% in CNE-2 respectively. The expression rates of Bak in NPC cell lines were(11.5 ± 0.8)% in CNE-1,(13.5 ± 0.9)% in CNE-2 respectively. Their expression locations were both in endochylema. Apoptosis rates were positive correlated with Bak expression but not with Bcl-2 both in CNE-1 and CNE2 after 2 Gy of accelerator linear radiation. Conclusion The results suggest that Bak is correlated with radiosensitivity of NPC cell CNE-1 and CNE-2.
