Objective: To find out the effects of organizational commitment on the turnover intention among nurses. Methods: Three hundred and ninety-two nurses from three hospitals in Beijing were investigated. Two scales were used: Organizational Commitment Scale and Resigning Intention Scale. Results: There were statis- tically significant negative correlations between turnover intention and organizational commitment. More precisely, between turnover intention and affective commitment (r = -0.668, P0.01), between turnover intention and normative commitment (r = -0.206, P0.01). Conclusion: The affective commitment and normative commitment can be used to predict nurse’s turnover intention.
