Clinical observation of hyaluronic acid as a dermal filler in facial rejuvenation

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of hyaluronic acid injection applied in the treatment of facial quiescent wrinkles.Methods From October 2005 to May 2007,the hyaluronic acid was injected into the facial wrinkles for 32 patients.The post-treatment the clinical effects,time and adverse reactions were observed.Results The facial wrinkles in all injected position were immediately improved.The improvement percentages were 88.6%,82.5% and 78.5% at month 3,6 and 12 respectively.No severe complications such as allergic reaction,infection,granulomas and embolism were found after injection.Conclusion Hyaluronic acid is an safe and effective temporary dermal filler for facial quiescent wrinkles treatment.
