The effect of Li oxide on activated carbon supported iron catalysts(Fe/AC) and the role of CO_2 in the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene were investigated. The addition of promoter Li to Fe/AC catalyst affords a significant promotion in catalytic activity and stability. The styrene yield for the ethylbenzene dehydrogenation in the presence of CO_2 is higher than that in the presence of N_2,indicating that CO_2 markedly promotes the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene.
