A stable nanometered TiO_2 colloids were prepared from the hydrolysis of titanyl organic compounds by controlling the reaction conditions. The X-ray diffraction and scan electro microscopy(SEM) revealed that the colloidal TiO_2 was in an anatase crystalline particle form with a diameter of 12 nm.The nano-TiO_2 films on ceramic substrates can be obtained by spraying the nanometered TiO_2 colloids on a ceramic tile with a calcination treatment. The SEM and the experimental results of photo-catalytic reaction in the gas phase proved the film was composed of the compact nanometered spherical TiO_2 particles and had favorable capacity of decomposing organic compounds with photo catalysis, which was classified as one order kinetic reaction process, and light induced hydropholicity. In addition,it was also proved that the ceramic tiles with the nano-TiO_2 films had an excellent self-cleaning and light induced hydrophilic functions.
