[The past, present and future of diagnosis and treatment of osteoradionecrosis of the jaws].

Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw (ORNJ) is one of the most devastating complications caused by radiation therapy in head and neck region, which is among the greatest challenges within stomatology. Treatment methods have been enriched because of expanded understanding of the pathogenic mechanism of ORNJ. Meanwhile, the diagnosis and treatment of ORNJ have been uniformed and improved gradually in China, making progress on several aspects from the establishment of classification and hierarchy system and publication of the consensus on ORNJ treatment. In the present comment, the author reviewed the history and current situation of diagnosis and treatment of ORNJ and prospected the hot topics of basic, translational and clinical research.放射性颌骨坏死（osteoradionecrosis of the jaw，ORNJ）是口腔颌面头颈肿瘤放射治疗的严重并发症之一，是口腔医学所面临的难题。随着对ORNJ发病机制的研究和认识逐渐深入，ORNJ的治疗手段不断完善。同时ORNJ分类分期系统的建立及临床诊疗共识的发布，使ORNJ的临床诊治逐步统一和规范，提高了我国ORNJ的诊治水平。本文对ORNJ诊治的历史及现状进行回顾和分析，并对ORNJ诊疗和研究的发展方向进行展望。.
