Case 15-2021: A 76-Year-Old Woman with Nausea, Diarrhea, and Acute Kidney Failure

A 76-year-old woman with a history of type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, coronary artery disease, and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction presented with nausea, abdominal cramps, and nonbloody diarrhea. The blood level of creatinine was 7.66 mg per deciliter, and the level of lactic acid was 7.4 mmol per liter. A diagnosis was made.
