Traditional electromagnetic wave (EMV)-absorbing materials have made great achievements in high absorption properties and wide absorption bandwidth. However, their absorption performances are generally achieved by adjusting the absorbent contents and the specimen thickness. Moreover, most of these materials possess a single function of microwave absorption and can generally only be utilized under ambient environments. With the emergence of new requirements for electromagnetic absorption materials in complex scenarios, new-generation materials are demanded to fulfill diverse functionalities and be applied in harsh conditions. Under these circumstances, materials with multifunctionalities, such as superhydrophobic, self-healing and thermal-resistant properties are desirable. This chapter discusses the new-generation absorption materials with versatile functions and those that can be utilized in high-temperature and low-frequency environments.
