Copolymerization of tert-butyl 3-isopropenylcumyl peroxide (D-120) with butyl acrylate (BA) and grafting of styrene onto the copolymers were studied. Copolymers of D-120 and BA prepared in bulk using benzoyl peroxide as initiator were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, GPC and DSC analysis, respectively. The compositions of the copolymer of D-120 with BA were determined by analysis of 1H NMR spectra. The reactivity ratios of D-120 and BA were determined using the methods of Kelen–Tüdös (K–T), Fineman–Ross (F–R) and Yezrielev–Brokhina–Roskin (YBR), respectively. Graft copolymers were obtained by the grafting of styrene onto the copolymers during the decompositon of peroxy bonds of the copolymers.
