ABSTRACT Cinnamon essential oil (CEo) has multiple uses in medical and health care, such as broad‐spectrum anti‐infective effects, resisting bacteria, mildew, and viruses. It can also be used to improve mood and promote blood circulation. The technology of continuously releasing fragrance is becoming a hot topic. This work constructs a coaxial nanofiber (NF) membrane by using PVP as the core layer and PI as the shell layer, achieving essential oil loading and release. The prepared coaxial CEo NF membrane can release fragrance for up to 14 days. The release efficiency was faster in the first 48 h, and the release rate slows down in the following time. Characterization, morphology, and internal coaxial structure were analyzed by using FTIR/XRD, scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The thermogravimetric (TGA) results showed that these coaxial NF membranes can withstand high temperatures. In addition, the prepared NF membranes exhibited good antibacterial properties against various bacteria and mildew, providing a new carrier for long‐term fragrance release.
