Extraction and content determination of the total gypenosides in Gynostemma pentaphyllum

The extraction and purification of the total gypenosides from Gynostemma pentaphyllum with HP20 resin column were studied,and to compare the content of the total gypenosides in bitter and sweet Gynostemma pentaphyllum.The Gypenosides absorption amount on the HP20 resin were 37.47 mg/mL,by the isolation and purification,the content of gypenosides was surpass 80%.The total gypenosides in bitter Gynostemma pentaphyllum was 5.09 g,and the total Gypenosides in sweet Gynostemma pentaphyllum was 2.98 g.
