Regression orthogonal design and single factor design are applied to surface roughness experiments in high speed milling of titanium alloy TA15 with PCD tool.By using the regression orthogonal design,a mathematical model on the relationship between cutting parameters and surface roughness is established.Through the variance analysis, the reliability of the model is verified. The influence of main factors on the surface roughness is studied by using single factor design, this paper also analyses its impact mechanism. It lays the reliable foundation for selecting high speed milling parameters with PCD tool and ensuring the perfect surface quality.
