Screening and field application of a pour point depressant for Jinzhou high waxy crude oil

Jinzhou crude oil is high waxy crude oil and the pour point of which is above 20 ℃, and its flow ability is poor at low temperature. In order to ensure safe transportation during the winter, a series of pour point depressant of G5 were screened out in laboratory and the depressant of G51 was chosen as the best one. Subsequently, factors affecting its effect on the depression were analysed and researched. It was found that the optimum heat processing temperature for the crude oil is 60 ℃ and the optimal concentration is 400 mg/L.The pour point of crude oil was reduced from 22 to 13 in this condition. The depressant of G51 has good static stability and compatibility therefore it can make sure of the safe operation of pipeline.
