Advances on the Safety Researches of Transgenic Bt Rice

The development of transgenic technology provides a new path to breed new varieties with exogenous genes, now many transgenic rice materials resistant to pests have been bred around the world, and some have been approved into median experiment and environment release. However, peoples are worry about the potential risks of the transgenic rice, and this is an important reason that transgenic rice cann't be approved to be commercialized. The recent advances on safety of transgenic Bt rice around the world are reviewed, and it includes food safety, ecological safety, resistance of pests to transgenic Bt rice and etc.
