Discussion on Treatment of Organic Compounds which are Resistant to Biodegradation by Anoxic Denitrification

Biodegradation of benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and xylenes which are resistant to biodegradation in wastewater by anaerobic and anoxic batch reactors were studied.Moreover,the characteristic of anaerobic biodegradation and fitting C/N ratios for different substrates in the process of anoxic biodegradation were observed.By analyzing experimental results,reasons for different C/N ratios to different substrates were found.We also concluded that anaerobic biodegradation and anoxic biodegradation may take place(simultaneously).
