Effect of Ball Milling on Effective Constituent Dissolution of Astragalus Membranaceus

To study the effect of ball milling on the effective constituent dissolution of Chinese medical material Astragalus membranaceus, ball milling powders of Astragalus membranaceus with different processing time were determined by high performance liquid chromatography method, using 2 processing methods of reflux extraction and cold leaching, taking contents of astragaloside IV and calycosin-7-O-β-Dglucoside as indicators.The results show that in the reflux extraction or cold leaching conditions, compared with the powders in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, ball milling can improve the effective components of Astragalus membranaceus leaching. The content of astragaloside IV increases by 10.33% to 39.25%, calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside increases by 3.49% to 32.81%.The ball milling technology can effectively promote the effective constituent dissolution and dissolution rate of Astragalus membranaceus and shorten the sample preparation time.
