Experimental research on the measurement of biliary tract volume with cholangiography

Objective To explore a measurement of biliary tract volume and provide data for billiary ablation embolish.Methods Japanese rabbits were performed with drainage in the right lateral lobes of biliary tract and cholangiography under X-ray.The volume of radiopaque contrast medium which made the Intrahepatic bile duct clearly seen was biliary volume.Results There was no significant difference in biliary volume between male and female rabbit at the same weight.The volume of right lobe biliary tract of rabbit was measured.Conclusion Measurement of volume of biliary tract under X-ray cholangiography is an effective and feasible method.
