Analysis the Interaction Between the Unconfined Groundwater and Surface Water Based on the Chemical Information Along the Shiyang River,Northwestern China

Based on the analysis of the chemical character of water in theShiyang River catchment,the study illustrated the interaction of groundwater and surface water along theShiyang River.The results showed that:(1)inWuwei basin,groundwater got recharge from river at mountain front and discharged to the river at the edge of extravasationzone,in alluvial plain down stream,the aquifer got water from river during high-water period or during irrigation period and discharged to the river during low-water period;(2)inMinqin basin,groundwater got water from surface water through irrigation in agricultural landand from river.
