摘要
Editor—There are rapid changes occurring in the shape and direction of the anaesthetic workforce in the UK. Changes to recruitment and curricula for physician anaesthetic training have resulted in significant recruitment bottlenecks, further compounding the projected shortfall of 11,000 physician anaesthetists by 2040.1 Rapid expansion of the Anaesthesia Associate (AA) workforce has been proposed as a solution.2 Limited analysis has been published on the impact of the expanding number of AAs on anaesthetists in training; here we aimed to increase this evidence base.
