摘要
Unlike the above mentioned studies, which were confined to uniaxial vertical bearing capacity, Bransby (2002) investigated the effect of consolidated preload on the combined vertical-horizontal footing capacity of a strip footing on normally consolidated clay. Allowing full consolidation and considering various magnitudes of preload in the numerical study, a significant increase in capacity, both vertical and horizontal, was shown.
